HTC Glacier ‘Project Emerald’ packs dual-core; runs Android OS

A new HTC handset is rumored (project emerald) to make an appearance on T-Mobile very soon. The HTC Glacier Android based OS is said to be packing a dual-core processor which boasts speeds almost 3 times faster than the 1 GHz HTC EVO 4G in some cases. We are assuming that this would be the new chipset announced by Qualcomm which was announced on June 1st. The new chipset, a dual-CPU Snapdragon powered through the GLBenchmark 1.1 with ease. AlienBabelTech, the blog that discovered this information said that the person testing the device under the username of ‘mbibik’ has only only tested T-Mobile devices in the past. Besides being an Android based handset, the device will have OpenGL 1.1, and have a screen resolution of 800 x 480.
