San Francisco now running blazing speeds with Sprint’s WiMAX

I saw a tweet last night that made me especially happy. My friend Myriam Joire a.k.a. tnkgrl from tnkgrl mobile, said Sprint lit up WiMAX in San Francisco and the speeds were insanely fast. My first thought, whoopee! Mobilize 2010 is right around the corner and what better place to test out Sprint’s new speeds than a mobile event. In Myriam’s post she states:

Epic 4G in Potrero Hill and are seeing between 5 and 7 (!) Mbps down and 1.2 Mbps up with 6 full bars of signal indoors. Even after moving 4 blocks away, download speeds stayed between 2 and 4 Mbps, with the signal dropping to 4 bars

Certainly good news to hear and I can’t wait to take this puppy for a test drive next week with the EVO and EPIC 4G devices from Sprint.
