About Us

We will be biased, talk a little smack, probably use some profanity but give our honest opinions about mobile technology.

Tony Peric – editor in chief

FoneFrenzy was started due to my fanatical obsession with mobile technology. My co-workers and I were on IM all day long and I was searching for a new cell phone. Over the next year, I became acquainted with various news sites and blogs around the web and would send IM’s to my friends throughout the day about various mobile technology. Then I noticed that my friends started asking me questions about cell phones and I would be able to find this or that information they requested in an instant. So my friends said, “you need to start a blog.” Then one day in early 2009, I decided to just start with a twitter page, http://twitter.com/FoneFrenzy and start reporting the news other sites posted. This went on for a while and I built a small, but loyal following.

Then I met Philip with PreThinking.com through my Twitter account and he turned my obsession into an actual website I can write about the Palm Pre. Shortly after working with PreThinking, I met up with Yves from iPhoneCTO.com and received an opportunity to write about iPhone enterprise business/medical applications that are upcoming or already on the market. I also occasionally contribute to FoneArena.com

James Patterson   –   Senior Editor/Coder

Hi, my name is James, and I am a techno-holic (“Hi James!”).  It’s been 6 minutes since my last Google News refresh, and my finger’s getting itchy.  I am a 22 year old, strapping young lad with a keen eye for anything electronic.  My techno-craze began early, around third grade, when my mother brought home a hand-me-down Tandy 1000. Curious young man that I was, I began to learn all I could about it so that I could manipulate that fascinating machine further! Fast-forward fifteen years and thousands of dollars, I remain unchanged.  Mobile technology is my drug of choice, starting with the Sega Gamegear, it quickly progressed into the HTC Tytn II (AT&T Tilt), and ultimately brought me to the Motorola DROID.  My taste for customization always by my side, Android has now become my OS of choice.  Oh, and apparently I’m supposed to mention I’m married (Thanks babe!).

Daniel Rodriguez – Senior Editor

My love for gadgets started when I was in middle school. Playing video games led to spending time on computers, which led to modifying video games, ROMs, and UI’s. I tried my hand in the old PalmOS when I was young, but couldn’t really get into it. It was (for me anyway) such an ugly interface, so I stuck with feature phones and all of their wondrous features. I was a RAZR user along with like 10 other feature phones and actually enjoyed the devices. However, once the iPhone came out, everything sort of changed for me. I found myself jail breaking the phone and changing everything I could on the device. I would spend hours tweaking the UI and changing themes. Then Android came out. I soon found myself with a Blackberry, iPhone, G1, and waiting for Palm to release something new. WebOS came out and that is when I became really involved in the community. WebOS has a very active and amazing community. That’s how I got started and I am happy I did. I met Tony through some mutual acquaintances, one thing lead to another, and now I am the Senior Editor for FoneFrenzy and I love every minute of it. As time goes on I plan to spend more time on the site interacting with developers as well as readers. I love to help people who have issues with their gadgets and I love to sit and talk gadgets. If you ever want to chat hit me up on Twitter!

Dillon Hanson   –   Editor

Dillon here. I’m 23 years old, married, and I’m a medic in the U.S Army, fresh out of Iraq. I’m stationed in Germany (pops beer cap) for the time being, and awaiting my wife to join me. I’m a relapsing tech geek. I can’t say exactly what it is that attracted me to technology, I’ve just always been drawn to it. I started out intrigued by the computers at school. In 6th grade I finally got my first computer, a hand me down DOS box. I can’t remember the model to save my life, but it had a 5.25″ drive and a dot matrix printer that was excrutiatingly loud. A few years later I found myself in trouble at school with computers, so I supressed my inner geek. Since then I’ve dabbled in Linux and programming, worked for a short time in the wireless industry, but for the most part just enjoyed technology instead of making technology itself a hobby. Now I find myself rediscovering it’s appeal. I enjoy playing with electronics in general, but get a real rush from manipulation. I don’t screw with “hacking” in the Kevin Mitnick sense these days, but unlocking, jailbreaking, modifying, and customizing presents a challenge and can pay off with some real eye candy, added functionality, and WTF reactions. I’m very interested to see what the future of mobile devices will hold, as they are already evolving into something so much more than just a phone. My phone OS of choice is Android, though I think my wife would sooner divorce me than get rid of her iPhone. lol. I use a rooted HTC Hero (European) for my mobile device.

Awesome work! I just logged on today and went through pretty much every post dating back to the first earlier this month. It gave me a chance to catch up on mobile device news and the WinMo world as I have been out of that realm ever since getting into Android and the G1. Keep it up the great work!

Wow! What an awesome way to share composing! I really like how each writer was able to read and share their emotion instead of leaving the reader to figure it out on their own.
