Windows Phone 7 gaming previewed in ad, looks promising

If you haven’t already heard, Microsoft announced its XBox live gaming and did a walk-through with some of the commercial tech blogs. Along with this walk-through, they put up a cute little YouTube ad showing off some of the gaming that can and will be done on Windows Phone 7 devices. In short, it looks pretty damn good. The graphics and game quality seem as good if not better than the iPhone, and the social integration surpasses that of any phone OS right now. This is due to the gaming profile page that lets you talk and communicate with your already existing Xbox live friends. I am super excited to get a Phone 7 device and possibly get my mobile gaming into serious mode. Xbox live integration will be awesome. Now check out the Xbox live on Phone 7 ad after the break…

[Video] Windows Phone 7 makes public debut

Although this was done at gdgt in Seattle on 7/27/2010, plenty of good indications of how the new Windows Phone 7 are going to turn out.

In interview done at the site of the gdgt.com show, people had this to say about the forthcoming devices:

Two standout remarks were from Android users. The firstI was very surprised. I expected nothing good to come from Windows Phone 7. I’m an Android phone user and it was impressive enough that I might consider getting a Windows Phone 7. The second, “It was cool until we found out it didn’t multi-task“.

Microsoft discontinuing the Kin

Well, its sad when something like this happens. Microsoft put a ton of money and work into growing out their Kin platform. Now it seems as though they are going to put it to rest. They aren’t going to expand the markets in which the Kin lives. Most likely the Kin will cease to exist on Verizon as Microsoft is now merging the Kin team with their regular Windows Phone 7 team. Here is a quote from a Microsoft representative who spoke to CNET on the matter: Read more of this post
