[video] Samsung Galaxy Tab preview

Vodpod videos no longer available.

It seems like more and more leaks are coming direct from manufactures of products these days. With the Samsung Galaxy Tab teaser video we showed you earlier, this one is a hands-on treatment of what looks to be a surprising competitor to Apple’s iPad. As far as specifications go, here is what we know so far: Android 2.2, WCDMA 3G, 802.11n WiFi, a 16:10 screen ratio, a front-facing camera for dedicated to video calling, SDHC memory expandability, and a DMB (digital multimedia broadcasting) TV tuner. If the specs match up to the UI in the video, you have one hell of a Pad built by Samsung.

T-Mobile to get 42Mbps HSPA+ by 2011?

Via TMO News

We recently discussed how fast T-Mobiles newly lit up HSPA+ network is. Make no mistake, it totally blew us away. In some areas we were getting 7.8Mbps download. However, most areas were getting 3-4Mbps download speed which is still quite admirable. Right now T-Mobiles HSPA+ has a theoretical max download limit of 21Mbps. According to this leaked slide you see above, which according to TMONews, was photographed at a manager’s meeting in Seattle, T-Mobile’s theoretical max is going to increase to Read more of this post

The next Blackberrys coming in 2010

RIM is always working on new Blackberry’s even when they release a new one, they are always thinking ahead. RBC analyst Mike Abramsky has come up with a roadmap of the rest of 2010 using different Blackberry and mobile websites to come up with the data. We can see a lot of similarities between the devices and new step with the slider but hopefully the OS 6 on these bad boys will make the phones better. Sometimes I feel like RIM is alway on top of hardware but if they want to compete with iOS 4 and Android 2.2 (3.0 later this year as well), they need to make OS 6 a game changer.

O2 in UK says you get iPhone 4, we charge you more!

In what Engadget described as “the entire United Kingdom” emailed them in the last two minutes, Uk’s O2 has decided to follow in the footsteps of AT&T and remove the unlimited, all-you-can eat 3G pricing the United Kingdom (and ours) became accustomed to having. Now, lucky iPhone 4 owners will have buy per 1GB of data per month. Meaning, as your limit is approached, you will be notified via text message letting you know that o2 would like you to purchase an additional 500MB for £5 or 1GB for £10. How quaint indeed. So how are all my UK brothers and sisters feel about the new pricing increase? Is that making you want that Nexus One now more than ever or what?

iPhone 3G 8GB gets kicked to the curb; new iPhone hitting stores by June 18th

Rumors and reports are pretty cool most of the time, except when they actually start to flow on top of each other and make some sense. BGR reported earlier today by one of his tipsters that AT&T is starting to unload the iPhone 3G GB, as they will no longer be available for sale via AT&T:

June 4, 2010

iPhone 3G 8 GB is Out of Stock

Effective immediately, iPhone 3G 8GB is Out of Stock.  Please refer all customers to iPhone 3GS 16 GB and 32 GB models.

FAQ:
Q:  When will we receive inventory for iPhone 3G 8GB?
A:  At this time, we do not know when more iPhone 3G 8GB will arrive.

Q:  Are there any iPhone 3G 8 GB available in COR if my customer can purchase there?
A:  Check with your local COR stores to see if they have any inventory available.

This could mean that the iPhone 3GS would drop to $99 dollars with the impending release of the next gen iPhone. Skip ahead a few hours later and BGR reports that AT&T employees have received very ‘high’ quotas for the month of June. With WWDC next week, it is anticipated that the release date of the new next gen iPhone 4G or HD may be released as soon as June 18th, which is a Friday. Considering Sprint has had a pretty hectic and successful launch day with the HTC EVO 4G, this could force Apple to bump up the launch window even earlier and try and nab a few of the folks considering an EVO 4G running Android.
