Why iPhone 4 is still playing catch up to Android

Since the World Wide Developers Conference, the iPhone has been given new life and it’s being called the iPhone 4. It is said that when Apple does something, they do it well. Lets get one thing straight; this article is not meant to take away from anyone who plans to get the iPhone 4, but someone has to point out the phone’s flaws. After all, Jobs would never do such a thing. So how can such a fantastic device still crumble to Android? Its all about the limitations; Apples largest issue.

Thinking about getting a Pre or Pixi? Hows the price of FREE sound?

Now this is a deal you should think about taking. HP and Palm have teamed up to offer all WebOS phones on every carrier for free! Whether your upgrading, adding a line, or getting a new line on AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon it does not matter! I do wish I qualified for an upgrade because WebOS is still the only OS I have not played with or owned and the only thing I here about it is good things. Especially with WebOS 2.0 features announced earlier this week, I am sure they will get it on both phones as soon as they can. If your on the fence about WebOS, this should sweeten the deal. Remember it ends midnight Thursday so don’t wait too long!

Find the deal here!

HTC Windows Phone 7 device with slide out…speaker?

It seems like everyday we get a new Windows Phone 7 device to look at. Today we see a preview of HTC’s Windows Phone 7 device, no codename, only know as T8788. It will be coming to AT&T and I was really excited when I saw this device because HTC makes great looking devices and when I saw the picture of slide out, I thought their would be more, but the slide out is only a speaker, yes a speaker. I hope we see more of this T8788 and the reason for having a slider out speaker. Hopefully HTC is making a twin with a QWERTY! As you can see Microsoft is taking a different design approach to Windows Phone 7 with designs ranging from normal to irregular, but hey, I am still excited to get my hands on any device and Windows Phone 7.

Galaxy S unlock is hidden on the phone, Vibrant works on AT&T 3G bands

XDA has found quite the surprise inside the Galaxy S phones here in the United States. Apparently their unlock codes were right there the whole time. Without even having to root your phone, you can enter the Galaxy S unlock codes directly on your phone and use them on other carriers. Here is one of the exciting kickers about this whole thing. The Samsung Vibrant actually works on AT&T’s 3G network. Engadget took the Vibrant for a test spin and were able to get 2MB/s download speeds on AT&T with an AT&T SIM inside the T-Mobile Vibrant. However, all good news comes a healthy dose of bad news as well. The Samsung Captivate on AT&T, though it is possible to unlock and use it on T-Mobile, does not have the bands to support T-Mobile’s 3G. So if you end up making that switch, you will be stuck with T-Mobile’s Edge network. So if you haven’t already, head over to XDA and read through their step by step guide on doing so.

Blackberry Bold 9780 shows up with OS6

Earlier today, a video came out showing the Blackberry Bold 9700 with OS6 running and being shown off. Now a couple hours later, the Blackberry Bold 9780, which is suppose to be a “refresh” of the 9700 has a video showing off OS6 on the device. As you can see, runs real fast and looks exactly like the 9700, which is why it is just a refresh. The 9780 still is not an official device yet but will presumably be a GSM device on AT&T and T-Mobile in due time.

Windows Phone 7 is coming, two phones leak out to see

I hope you have not forgotten about Windows Phone 7 because by the looks of these phones, everyone will be wanting a piece of them in a couple of months. Engadget was sent these pictures, on the right, one by LG, codenamed C900 and on the left, by Samsung, codenamed Cetus, yes I am hoping better names come too. As you can see the Samsung Cetus has a round shape too it and the size looks a little small as well. The LG C900 is a landscape-QWERTY keyboard with a simple screen on top, and three buttons. These phones both look great and are supposed to be launch phones for Windows Phone 7, hopefully we will have more soon and a release date for everything. They are both suppose to release on AT&T so I am definitely going to be getting C900 when available. Anyone else looking forward to what Windows Phone 7 brings, or they are fine with Android? More shots of each phone after the break. Read more of this post

iOS 4.1 beta 3 released, cuts loose ends with iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G

iOS 4.1 beta 3 was released earlier to developers, almost a week after beta 2. While there is no change log included in this release, hopefully it means 4.1 is getting closer to a final release. The bad news with this release though was Game Center was unfortunately dropped from iPhone 3G and second gen iPod Touch users. There is no reason or mention from Apple for this but it looks like Game Center was too good to be true on those devices.

[UPDATE] Motorola Sage makes its blurrycam debut

Is this AT&T’s next Android phone? This newcomer is called the Motorola Sage and no specs are official yet but according to UberGizmo it will come loaded with Android 2.1. By the looks of it though, it looks like it is rocking an old version of Motoblur, I suppose no NinjaBlur for AT&T at all? You can also see the 3.1 inch screen too as well as the big center placed trackpad as well. They say there will be a QWERTY keyboard added to the phone but looking at the phone from this angle, where is it going to be put? Are they going to reinvent the Backflip again? Any AT&T Android users out there excited for a weirdly looking Android phone? FCC filing after the break.

[UPDATE] New photos of the Sage have been uncovered, non blurry and with the QWERTY keyboard.

Blackberry Mystery Event August 3rd, OS 6 and Slider 9800 to be unleashed?

RIM is coming back strong, they have sent invites for a big mystery event and look at that AT&T will be there too. The event will take place in New York City and will start 11AM sharp. Is it time for the Blackberry Slider 9800 to be shown off officially? Will we get information on the rollout of Blackberry OS 6? I am pretty excited for RIM to come back strong, seeing as they have been quiet all summer.
