Blackberry Storm2 9550 and Bold 9650 get official updates

Word from Crackberry informs us that two Blackberrys have gotten official updates to their operating systems. First up is the Storm 2, I have this phone so I am glad that it  has received an official update because there has not been one for awhile. The system update is to 5.0.0.713 from TBayTel and you can grab that right here. Next up is the Bold 9650 who gets an update up to 5.0.0.732, it is official from Verizon but as of this writing there has not been an update posted to the website, but the update is being sent OTA or you can get it from the Desktop Manager. Make sure to back up before upgrading!

VIDEO: Blackberry Storm 2 9550 Caught on Video, Again

The Blackberry Storm 2 caught on Video again. Although this time, the Storm 2 shows off it’s wonderful WiFi! This version of the BlackBerry Storm 9550 seems to be running the OS 5.0.0.161 version of firmware. Also note the Verizon boot screen. This firmware seems to be a bit faster, although quite blurry in the video.

CONFIRMED: Blackberry Storm 9520 Has WiFi

We have definative photo proof that the Blackberry Storm2 now comes with WiFi. German site, benezblog and crackberry both are both showing older builds with the OS 5.0.0.138. So head over to the blog and see the rest of eye candy.

BlackBerry 9990 Photo (New Device) Surfaces. Is it the Storm2 or Magnum?

Apparently, the guys over at Crackberry have received a photo of a device they believe to be the 9900 Storm 2. They’ve stated that it may be an internal (to RIM)  model number “9990” and that it actually exists. But Crackberry reports that doesn’t seem to point to a new device at all. They believe that it is classified as Storm 2 hardware. We think that this may be the model number for the “Hybrid” Blackberry Magnum.

In another post by Crackberry last year, they stated: “A little more info for you – we’re now hearing it will be called the BlackBerry 9900 and it’s currently codenamed Pluto.” Also, BoyGenius had this photo not much later. I think we are going to see the “Hybrid” touchscreen with full qwerty keyboard running the latest (hopefully revamped) OS Blackberry Magnum. And I would probably breakdown and buy one if it was half decent because I love the Bold’s keyboard. Just make sure RIM uses a trackpad and not trackball, OK? Your thoughts?
