WWDC 2010: Netflix Streaming coming in an App to the iPhone

Image Via Engadget

Steve Jobs announced and showed off Netflix streaming on the iPhone. The app was already available for the iPad, but now an optimized version for the iPhone will be available. With the app you can do everything expected, change and edit your queve, add ratings, and view/stream Netflix on your phone. You will be able to watch Netflix over both WiFi and 3G! There is bit rate adaptation like you see with the YouTube app. It will stream lower quality if you are on 3G. Hey streaming is streaming! Glad it is finally here!

WWDC 2010: New iBooks features

Photo Via Arstechnica

The iBooks store is growing rapidly. Steve Jobs says that 23% of all eBooks sold are from the iBooks store. In light of this success, Apple is also growing out the functionality of iBooks. Now iBooks will allow you to view, read, and store PDF’s on your bookshelf for your viewing pleasure. SO HELPFUL! It wasn’t there at launch but it is now and that is all that matters. You will also be able to view and add sticky notes on pages. You will see a notepad pop up over your book and you can add notes. Great for educational use. Apple will continue to grow out the features on iBooks to make it as good of an experience as possible. They clearly want to win in the eBook space. That is what Apple is best at, taking an early lead.
