[Video] Microsoft stoked about RTM release; says Blackberry and iPhone are DEAD

Even we were blown away at this pretty stupid marketing move on Microsoft’s part. It looks as if Microsoft is so stoked about the new RTM (short for Release To Manufacturing) of the Windows Phone 7 OS, that Redmond decided to hold a parade. Now we believe that Microsoft is headed in the right direction, and personally I look forward to WP7 release. But to call out Blackberry and iPhone when both OS’ have been outselling your OS for a while now, is a ballsy move in our eyes. Let’s just hope that WP7 lives up to the hype or Microsoft will never be able to live this down.

Windows Phone 7 teaser arrives

We are getting so close! Windows Phone 7 is almost here and Microsoft wants to remind everyone it is coming. Microsoft’s new teaser for Windows Phone 7 does make it look somewhat exciting. Ads are going to be huge for Microsoft because unlike other companies trying to make it in this space, cough Palm cough, Microsoft has a ton of money to dish out on advertising. This is Microsoft dipping their toes in the ad market water. Advertisements are one of the many perks to being just a software manufacturer over hardware and software. Microsoft will be putting out ads for Windows Phone 7 as an operating system, while the hardware manufacturers will be competing to advertise their own individual phones for Microsoft. It is win/win for them. Just sit tight people it will be here soon. Check out the ad after the break. Read more of this post

[Video] Windows Phone 7 makes public debut

Although this was done at gdgt in Seattle on 7/27/2010, plenty of good indications of how the new Windows Phone 7 are going to turn out.

In interview done at the site of the gdgt.com show, people had this to say about the forthcoming devices:

Two standout remarks were from Android users. The firstI was very surprised. I expected nothing good to come from Windows Phone 7. I’m an Android phone user and it was impressive enough that I might consider getting a Windows Phone 7. The second, “It was cool until we found out it didn’t multi-task“.

HTC Windows Phone 7 features 3.7″ screen, 1GHz Snapdragon on CDMA bands?

Looks like a developer decided to shoot some pics and send them over to Engadget of a mysterious new HTC Windows Phone 7 powered device. The phone sports a CDMA band which would most likely mean Verizon and Sprint as the main carriers for this new WP7 handset. The device itself comes with a 3.7″ Super LCD screen (maybe ala Sony?), 1GHz Snapdragon processor, three touchscreen buttons at the bottom of the screen like on the Nexus One and an 8 MP camera. Nothing is confirmed but if what we see is some more HTC goodness about the hit the CDMA market here in the U.S.A., you can bet we will surely be wanting to take one for a test drive. Hit up the link for more pics. Read more of this post
