Windows Phone 7 Foursquare Full Source Code Released

Windows Phone 7 devs have a reason to rejoice this Monday as news of the Foursquare full source has been released this evening. Microsoft/Touchalitly just released the full source code of the Windows Phone 7 Series Foursquare app which was demoed over the MIX event a few weeks back. This will give devs a chance to jump all over the code and see what the code monkeys can come up for Windows Phone 7 and Foursquare.

We consider this to be an alpha release, even though everything works, but mostly because we need to clean up the code to follow standard patterns and best practices for Silverlight and Windows Phone 7. When you only have a few weeks to get the application done “Copy and Paste” become your friends. Look forward to a much cleaner release soon.

You can download the package at codeplex’s website here.

Sprint To Have Company Wide Meeting March 31st

According to MobileCrunch and others around the blogspace, Sprint is having a meeting on March 31 and people are told that this meeting is “top secret”, “mandatory”, and “company-wide.”  Could this be the announcement of the new EVO 4G by HTC? Is Sprint trying to get a head start on this June’s Tsunami of phones? Is this a possible layout guide for the entire 4G network roll-out nationwide? New calling plans related to 4G? Well, until someone contacts one of the blogs with more information, this is all we know for now.

Confirmed: Verizon To Get iPhone

As we broke this news late last year, the Wall Street Journal today confirmed what we already knew: Verizon is getting the iPhone. A compatible with Verizon’s CDMA network iPhone is currently in the works. We knew this as testing was already being done late last year. The WSJ reports, the two iPhone models will be produced by different manufacturers:

The people briefed on the matter said one of the new iPhones is being manufactured by Taiwanese contract manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., which produced Apple’s previous iPhones. The model that has CDMA capability, used by Verizon Wireless, is being manufactured by Pegatron Technology Corp., the contract manufacturing subsidiary of Taiwan’s ASUSTeK Computer Inc., said these people.

Images of new iPhone parts above provides proof that iresq does indeed have the parts for the new 4G iPhone, as we reported earlier this year. Today, a new video surfaced showing off the faceplate of the new iPhone

UPDATE: John Gruber did mention in one of his posts regarding the WSJ report of the new iPhone:

– A4-family CPU system-on-a-chip
– 960×640 double-resolution display
– second front facing camera
– 3rd party multitasking in iPhone 4

Android OS on track to own the mobile web market?

Google has been climbing an inch at a time since its debut in 2008. However, since the launch of the Droid, Android has skyrocketed in market and web market share. iPhone leading the way for so many years is finally dwindling when it comes to its lead. This could be due to the fact that everyone and their mothers already have an iPhone and to find new customers isn’t going to be as easy as it was, or it could be because Apple has decided that the OS it launched in 2007 is going to be the final OS it will still be selling to you today in 2010. If Android does take the lead in both Web Market share and global market share, will Apple finally decide a nice UI revamp should be their next move? We can only hope, for their sakes and for ours. Admob always has their web stat summaries so we will keep a close eye on them to see if Android is going to move up that last inch to take the lead before Apple unveils their forthcoming iPhone in June.
