Sprint: Don’t call it a comeback, we’ve been here for years

That’s right world! Time to take some notice! For years, Sprint has had to deal with the ravages of poor customer service related issues (which I have yet to experience myself), being the hand-me-down phone network and having to deal with the persistent loss of subscribers. Today all has changed and become right with the world. Sprint announced their new flagship handset, built by HTC, called EVO 4G, the USA’s first real 4G handset and boy, is it a good one. HTC EVO 4G, HTC Nexus One and Motorola Droid Faceoff

In light of the release of Sprint’s bitch-slap to the rest of the U.S.A’s wireless carriers, the release of the HTC EVO 4G, a first real 4G handset delivered by America’s number three carrier, is now pitted amongst former leaders of the Android landscape. In a chart put together by Engadget, the depiction of the three Android handsets, which each in their own way, have set the standard as each next generation followed, albeit in a very short amount of time. But hey, that’s technology for you.

Now enters the HTC EVO 4G by Sprint. A monster of a handset with all the specs to make the techiest of tech boys and girls drool. Alongside it’s 2.1 version of Android, this puppy is sporting some pretty impressive features. 1GB internal storage, 800X480 capactivce touchscreen, 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 1.3 MP camera, HDMI out, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and most impressive, a dual band phone running 3G EV-DO rev. A and WiMAX on Sprint’s network.

Palm Pre Plus: Verizon vs. AT&T comparison

Vodpod videos no longer available.

It was inevitable that the side by side comparison of the Palm Pre Plus, Palm’s flagship device, landed between America’s two most heated rival networks. We had the fortunate ability to get our good bro’s over at Engadget to put together a side by side video for us to enjoy. One thing noted about this video the guys produced, a browser battle between these two giants of the mobile realm. Now we just have to wait for a T-Mobile version before we can compare them all together.

Paid WebOS apps coming to Europe, Mexico, and Canada March 31

Hopefully we don't have to see this message anymore! Or at least feel like we are seeing this message

Finally! Okay Palm said that paid apps were coming to international carriers a couple months ago but wow does it feel like forever. When you are hurting for market share these are the kinds of things that need be put on a rush. Palm is now letting devs know that paid apps are coming to international countries such as Canada, Mexico, and Europe come March 31st. Though will our friends from Asia get these apps? It doesn’t look like it. Not yet anyway. We’ll have to wait and see if there is any sort of work around, but we are hoping our good buddies like @palmdoc, who are huge Palm supporters, don’t have to deal with the minuscule free selection available to them now. Palm needs to help devs and users by getting these apps out to everyone everywhere as soon as possible. That’s all folks, we look forward to March 31st!

Bitchin’ Bond Watch-phone spotted at CTIA, finally!

And there you are, decked out in a custom tailored Armani suit, beautiful women at your flanks poised to strike, and a martini in your hand.  Feeling the part, you strut your stuff over to the pianist, Beethoven weighing on your mind.  Just as you breath the first words of your request, the latest Lady Gaga song leaps from your pocket just as the music fades, timing couldn’t be more perfect.

What do you do?  Cover is blown, your martini finds it’s final resting place on your stomach rather than in, and the beautiful wingmen scatter into the wind.

The upcoming Microsoft Courier is real according to a job listing

Today Microsoft had a job posting which helped confirm the exist of the mysterious Microsoft Courier Journal. The courier if you don’t know is Microsoft’s attempt at a slate device and it seems like it is a huge win. The demo’s and such that we have seen look just amazing and until today’s accident Microsoft declined to admit the device actually existed.

Here is the original job posting where the courier was mentioned.

“Do you already know everything about Project Natal and the Cloud? Is Blaise Aguera y Arcas’ jaw-dropping TED talk on augmented-reality Bing Maps and Photosynth last month’s news? Then check out some of the online chatter surrounding new releases of Window Phone 7 series handsets, Internet Explorer 9 and the upcoming Courier digital journal.

[Quote Via All Things D]

Microsoft has already edited their posting and removed the mention of the courier. If that isn’t proof enough then I don’t know what is. Here’s to hoping this thing comes out sooner rather than later. Cheers!

Samsung Galaxy S specifications leak before CTIA announcement

Samsung
Some specifications for Samsung’s forthcoming top-tier smartphone, the Galaxy S, have been leaked ahead of the planned announcement at CTIA 2010.

Details are slim, but from what we do know, the Galaxy S is looking to be a sexy little phone, rocking Android OS (PLEASE 2.1+), a 1 GHz processor, and a Super AMOLED (read: sexy) display.  Based on the way things are tending, I’d imagine it’s safe to assume Sansung’s planning on making the 1 GHz/Super AMOLED combo a standard across their product line.  Awesome.

Breaking news: Nintendo announces “3DS”, Glasses-free 3D handheld

Just a concept(I think, ask Engadget).

Whoa!  Didn’t see that one coming!  Nintendo has just tossed the world a few nibbles regarding its handheld gaming successor to the DS and the DSi, the Nintendo “3DS”, at a small press conference in Japan.  Mum’s the word on all the details, but the little information we have makes my fingertips tingle with naughty excitement; Glasses-less 3D display and it’ll use a “compatible cart” meaning hours of nostalgic gaming pleasure.
